Center-Fix®
As soon as a toddler starts to walk, the bulk of his weight rests on the final intervertebral disc (L5/S1), i.e. the transition area between the lumbar spinal column and the sacrum. This is why signs of deterioration which can result in an almost complete depletion (osteochondrosis) of the disc is frequently seen here, even at a young age.
A keyhole technique is now available in the form of the so-called Center-Fix® which avoids the need for an invasive operation from behind, through the muscles, and access through the stomach.
