Image-guided injection therapy
Image-guided injection therapy involves, by means of an image converter (mobile X-ray) or CT (computerised tomography), the site of the pain being initially converted into an image. Under the guidance of the image converter, a very fine needle is then positioned on the target destination and an analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication is injected on to the appropriate algogenic structure.
Depending on the location of the pain, we distinguish between a Facet infiltration (FI) to the small vertebral joint, a Periradicular therapy (PRT) on the inflamed nerve root, and an Epidural caudal injection into the spinal canal
